Versace for H&M

Being ill has officially turned me into an internet shopping fiend. It's about the only thing I have enough energy and concentration to undertake. Pathetically lying in bed and scrolling with one hand through the online shopping world is about the only thing I can manage.

Yesterday marked the launch of the Versace for H&M collection. Now I couldn't make it to the shops so I sat in bed poised with two computers ready to pounce on the mirage of vibrant Versace wonders. It sold out in stores within 30 minutes. Online I encountered one frustrating crash after the next. One computer failed to work completely. I cast it out disgruntledly at my seemingly ingenious plan.

Plan B:  going solo. I could barely get through online. The few glorious moments that I actually managed to put something in my bag, I couldn't check out. Finally I had the one thing that I really wanted, the leopard print jacket. I literally jumped on the couch in excitement, fell off and realised that was probably my limit of physical exertion for the day. I sat myself down to reconfigure. Then the mysterious emptying and filling of my shopping bag happened. The jacket miraculously disappeared and reappeared continuously for around an hour whilst I could still not check out. Blood pressure rising I finally broke through. Then what did I do? I panic bought people, PANIC BOUGHT.  I suddenly decided in my delirium that I NEEDED every single piece. I grabbed what I could and began to check out. Total: £800. Now I don't actually have that amount of money in my bank so I sadly cast most of it out. Whittling it down to a more select collection I realised it was still too much..

Screw it, I decided I would make life easier for my brothers this year and just tell them what they got me for Christmas. They were very kind by the way.  So this is what I got and out of interest the less exciting black pieces sold out first, so I guess it's just as well I have a sometimes more questionable taste..

And no, I don't know what I was thinking with the pink dress. It reminds me of something you would see Barbie wearing in the 90's. The kind of thing that made me play with Ken instead. Ahh, if only my four year old self could see me now, she'd be disgusted.

Acid in Wonderland

Dream The World Awake Details: Nick Knight, Walter Van Beirendonck, Simon Foxton

I'm not ready for winter, maybe it's the fact I've been ill for three weeks now or maybe its that fact that I wish I was in Ibiza raving it up somewhere. Anyway for some reason the usual autumnal colours of fall are just not appealing to me right now.  The other day I bought a bright blue bra (called superhero blue and yes it makes me feel powerful) a yellow neon belt and a bright purple wig. I felt like I was rebelling against winter and it felt good. Being ill has also meant I've missed out on more than a handful of amazing parties. The one I'm most gutted about has to be seeing The Glitch Mob. I will post one of my favourite videos of their and I DEFY you not to sit through the whole thing. I've not been to a rave in far too long and I'm getting withdrawl symptoms and so it seems is the rest of the world. HEIRLOOM BLUES: PPQ S/S '12

PPQ S/S 2012- Invited by my good friend/ extremely talented PR DJ man Mr Ronnie Joice. The one who chose NOT to go to the Cavalli party because he deemed sleep too valueable.

Somerset house played host to this season’s show. Ronnie led the way, sweeping past the long line of people scrambling to get in, stopping every few feet to greet one of his many acquaintances. As soon as we arrived we were ushered in and onto the front row. Only the best for Mr Joice. A flurry of hosts bustled around, attempting to ensure each celebrity was well looked after/ their presence documented from every angle. Among the famous were Peaches Geldolff and Pandemonia, the 7ft latex wonder.

Pre-show mayhem

Ronnie slyly swallowing some vitamin water and Adam looking generally bewildered..

The fury of the photographers flash was unstoppable as more and more celebrities poured in to take their place. Lights went down, the beat kicked in- out walked PPQ’s spring summer ‘12 collection.
A haze of candy coloured clad models strutted their stuff in front of us: a mesmerizing blur of pastel, prints and quirky detail. Buttoned-up dresses and structured lingerie-esque tops amounted to an adorably lush collection. The aspect of PPQ’S clothing I love the most is that it’s totally wearable yet attains a solid portion of attitude. The PPQ girl is one with an edge and plenty of humour.

The collection was adorned in bling, PPQ embroidery, patchwork and print topped off with bold shoes by Michael Lewis. The offbeat jeans were a collaboration between PPQ and Lee Jeans and their gorgeously dramatic tights a collaboration between luxury hosiery label Bebaroque. PPQ’s notorious humour closed the show with their zorro style masks and hats. Next couture costume perhaps?

The show was more of a fashion party, one that continued far into the night.

Ronnie Joice DJ’d at the Mayfair after party, ripping some classic tunes whilst a blur of fur and silk clad guests danced their way across the floor. I of course made myself useful by making sure everyone was well watered, occasionally providing some tasteful dancing next to the decks.

After Ronnie was done we headed up to the penthouse for the more exclusive private party. Pentax had set up a picture parlor in the corner and guests milled around glamorously in variations of the Zorro masks seen in the PPQ show. I donned my favourite and headed straight to the booth...

The booze inevitably ran low so we all headed to the apparently natural next location: Playboy. Sipping on some Hoxton Gin and greeted by the lovely Salvatore Calabrese, we met up with the rest of our crew. The Hoxton Gin was, naturally, quickly drained. Next stop: the After After Party, Whisky Mist...

Now the rest of that night, filled with questionable dancing and various famous faces, is under wraps. Got to have a bit of secrecy now don’t I?

Thank you so much again to the lovely Ronnie for inviting me, may your tunes never clear a dance floor.

MAX aka muse mark 2

These are some old shots of one of my friends Max from Uni. I had just got my new SLR and was taking a few cheeky shots during coffee break at Chelsea.
